I started to learn to play at the age of 8; at that time it was rare to be accepted by a teacher any younger. What started as a fascinating hobby developed eventually into a very enjoyable (and sometimes challenging) career.
I have been teaching piano and music theory for over 23 years. I have three grown up children and all of them play the piano. Two went to Cheetham’s Scool of music to study (unsurprisingly) piano as well as clarinet and flute, they are both resident church organists. One went on to study at the RNCM/Manchester University.
Some of my pupils have gone on to study music at university and have become music teachers in schools. One of these still comes back for lessons. I feel privileged to have become part of the lives of all of my pupils and to share in their musical journey which in time might well be passed on to their children.

A (little) bit about me
